EVERY SCHOOL DAY COUNTS
Thursday June 22nd 2023
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Everyone has the right to be SAFE
Everyone has the right to be RESPECTED
Everyone has the right to LEARN
GRADE 6 CAMP: I contacted Steph Millan at camp and she informed me the students are having a fantastic time. Yesterday activities included the giant swing, zip lines and archery. Last night they had a campfire with milo and marshmallows. Today they were going to do some bush cooking and make their own morning tea. Steph also said that even though it is cold the rooms were “toasty warm” last night.
Arrival back at school tomorrow – I will update parents on the COMPASS and Skoolbag App of the estimated time of arrival back at school. It would be appreciated if you didn’t contact the office around time of arrival, but check on COMPASS and /or Skoolbag App.
CENTENNIAL UPDATE: Some of our centennial memorabilia has been delivered this week. So far, we have tin mugs, pen sets and pavers. Our centennial teddy bears, stickers, key rings and balloons have been ordered. There will be an opportunity for families to pre order these prior to the Centennial Gala Day in October.
$21.3 MILLION FUNDING: The Principal team has been completing all the necessary paperwork around our proposed funding. We have consulted with staff, students and families to get an overall picture of what Melton South Primary looks like in 2023 and what is the preferred outlook for 2033.
HOLIDAYS: It has been a very busy term for all and everyone has earned a well-deserved break.
I hope everyone has a restful and safe holiday and look forward to seeing everyone again in term 3.
Marilyn Costigan
Principal

SWPBS BADGE EARNERS
Each day, MSPS students work their way up the learning ladder through following our school values, showing Respect, Kindness, and striving to do their best every day. When they reach the top they are recorded with an Outstanding day on their token acknowledgment chart. When a student reaches a significant milestone of Outstanding days, they earn a badge, here is where we celebrate students who have worked hard to achieve their milestone badges.
