ZONES OF REGULATION

“This is about my feelings. What we would do if we were in a mood. We would do some breathing, hands on eyes or I would go to my spot, until I’m back in the green zone”.
Lucy, grade 1

SPORT NEWS

Grade 3 & 4 Tag Rugby League
On Tuesday 15th October our Grade 3’s and 4’s went out and played at the Rugby League Tag Gala Day and they had a ball. The students played, danced and showed off their sweet moves at the Gala Day. Our Melton South students should be proud of the way they conducted themselves, not only did they show great sportsmanship, but they were also respectful to the umpires. Well Done 3’s and 4’s on a wonderful job.

5/6 Western Division Girls Volleyball
On Wednesday 9th October our Division Girls Volleyball team played host to two powerhouse teams from the Macedon District – Holy Cross Primary School and the Melton Sporting Schools District 1 – Melton Christian College. The girls handled the home court nerves like veterans of the sport and should be super proud of the way they played the game for each other and with each other. They took opportunities to find open space on their opponent’s court and shared the ball to confuse their opponents. Both matches the girls showed wonderful sportsmanship as well. The girls were so dominant in their first game they won both sets. The second game they did hold back but Holy Cross didn’t make it easy either with the first set being played so close. However, our girls were able to overcome Holy cross in 2 sets as well and brought Home the Western Ranges Division Girls Volleyball Pennant. WOOOHOOOO Girls! Well done on a super job. Good Luck at your upcoming Western Metropolitan Region on Thursday 31st October.

5/6 Western Division Mixed Cricket
On Tuesday 15th October our Division Mixed Cricket team took on 3 powerhouse teams from the Macedon District – Brammar College, the Melton Sporting Schools District 1 – BMG Woodlea and the Bacchus Marsh District – Darley Primary School. The Boys showed great sportsmanship and respect for both umpires and opponents. They boys were the best fielding team by far on the day every catch was held, and most ground balls were stopped before passing the boundary. However, each game the boys fell just short of taking the win. To the boy’s credit they might have been frustrated but they did their best and that’s all we asked of them. Congratulations on making it to the Western Ranges Division competition boys, you boys should be so proud of yourselves, we are all very proud of you for representing Melton South Primary School, Thank you.
