EVERY   SCHOOL   DAY   COUNTS
Friday July 19th 2024

Melton South Primary School acknowledges the Wurundjeri People as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we learn and play. We value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture. We recognise the First People’s connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respects to Elders, both past, present and emerging.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Everyone has the right to be SAFE
Everyone has the right to be RESPECTED
Everyone has the right to LEARN

BUSY TERM: When you look at the diary dates above you can see we are in for a very busy term, with lots of activities across different curriculum areas.

WELCOME TO JAYNA: We welcome Jayna as a member of our office staff, I am sure you will all make her feel welcome when you see her at the office.

WELCOME TO NEW FAMILIES: On Monday we had eight new students commence at Melton South Primary and more to start over the next week. We welcome the students and families to our Melton South Primary School community.

2025 ENROLMENTS: We are currently taking PREP enrolments for 2025. Please contact our office staff for enrolment details. It definitely helps with planning for staffing and grades if students are enrolled in a timely manner.

SOCIAL MEDIA: I am still receiving reports from parents that some of our senior students are still posting inappropriate messages and photos on social media. We seek your support in monitoring  how your children are using these sites.

SCHOOL REVIEW: Every four years schools undergo a school review. We have been advised that our review will be held in term 1, 2025. The process begins now as an extensive school self evaluation needs to be completed before the reviewer, our SEIL and other members of the review panel come to the school to undertake the review. Students, staff and parents will all be involved in this process.

MASTERPLAN:  We are still having regular planning meetings with MINX architects and associated staff. We also had external agencies conduct on-site testing over the holidays. We are still waiting to see when we will receive the funding to start the school upgrade.

Grade 3-6 Camp
Dear parents and carers, A reminder that all camp payments need to be finalised by the end of this term. You can make payment in full on your child’s compass profile, or smaller, more frequent payments through the office. More information about the camp can be found at www.rosesgap.com.au
