EVERY   SCHOOL   DAY   COUNTS
Tuesday November 19th 2024

Melton South Primary School acknowledges the Wurundjeri People as the Traditional Owners of the land on which we learn and play. We value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history and culture. We recognise the First People’s connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respects to Elders, both past, present and emerging.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Everyone has the right to be SAFE
Everyone has the right to be RESPECTED
Everyone has the right to LEARN

ILLNESS: We continue to have many staff and student illnesses this term. If your child is unwell please do not send them to school. We are doing our best to cover staff absences but it is proving to be quite a challenge on some days.

WHOLE SCHOOL BREAKFAST:  On Tuesday the 17th of December we will be having our  annual  whole school breakfast. This is in place of grade parties. Staff will cook breakfast for students, including sausages, pancakes, fruit, juice, cereal and toast. A note will be sent shortly outlining the cost etc.

UNIFORMS: It is still an expectation that students are in full school uniform every day. Many students are choosing to wear coloured bucket hats which are not part of our school uniform. We are an accredited Sun-Smart school so broad brimmed hats need to be worn.

FOOD DONATIONS: Thanks to the many families who have donated food to help our MSPS families in need over the Xmas break. People are being so generous, we really do appreciate your support. There is a wheelie bin in the foyer of the front office to place food items in if others want to donate food.

GRADUATION: On Monday the 9th of December our grade 6 students will be able to attend our Graduation Ceremony at Melton Entertainment Park. There will be the formal part of the ceremony, students receiving their graduation package, awards  and then parents will leave. The students will then have dinner and disco. It is always a special night for the students.

Transition

Last week MSPS ran a high school transition session for the entire grade 6 cohort. Students were grouped by the high school they will be attending in 2025, and undertook beneficial activities to support them in transitioning to high school.  Those going to Staughton College were presented with material from year nine student leaders and we thank Staughton for giving us this great opportunity.
