MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
SPORTING ACHIEVEMENTS: We have had so many students representing our school in different sports. Our staff are very proud of them all and the sportsmanship showed by our students.
DJERRIWARRH FESTIVAL: We received this message from Rebecca Hickey, Events Officer after the parade on the weekend.
“I am happy to advise that Melton South Primary has won the Outstanding School Award, demonstrating strong school spirit. We will be arranging the trophies at the December Mayoral meeting on December 18th”.
I totally agree with her comments! A big thank you to Mrs Ginger Martin, Performing Arts teacher, who organised the event and to the parents who did an amazing job dressing their children up as 100 years old. Mrs Martin taught us a dance which involved the twirling of our walking sticks.
PLANNING 2024: If you know your child/ren will not be attending Melton South Primary in 2024 and you haven’t yet advised the office it would be appreciated if you could do that as soon as possible.

The students were excited (and some slightly terrified) to meet a range of animals including a Golden huntsman spider, Freddo the frog, Pinecone the lizard, Lara the python, Snappy the crocodile, Luna the bettong and Squirtle the turtle. A great day was had by everyone!

Last Wednesday our Grade 6 students held their Science Fair. Each student investigated one natural disaster and presented a 3D model and an explanation text. Students were also able to verbally describe their chosen natural disaster (causes, destruction, people affected, locations, human responses, how to prepare, warning systems etc). All of the grades in the school visited the Grade 6 classrooms for this event and the students taught the younger students about natural disasters. We were extremely proud of our students.
